LootLabs at Devcom and Gamescom 2024

The track record and relevance of Gamescom is well-established not just across Europe, but the entire world. It began in 2009, as a continuation of conventions reaching back to the early 2000s.

Set in Cologne, Germany, Gamescom quickly began growing and expanding. Right now, it is officially the biggest gaming event in the world. This year, it had over 335,000 visitors, who enjoyed the presentation, mind-blowing booths, and many other experiences on offer from 1,400 exhibitors.

The supplementary event, Devcom, which is the developer conference, focused on business-to-business events and also broke records. It had over 5,000 registered attendees, while its 17 stages hosted 350 speakers. After several shaky years in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s safe to say that Gamescom is back in full force.

LootLabs was fortunate enough to get a chance to not only visit it, but also get in touch with a range of industry leaders. The results are some incredible insights into the current state of the video game industry, but also some important gaps in the market where our company can provide a series of win-win solutions for everyone involved.

The Big Names of Gamescom

Thanks to the relevance of Gamescom, we were not surprised to get a chance to see all of the juggernauts of gaming in one place. Among the biggest names were AAA titles like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Doom: The Dark Age, Star Wars Outlaws, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Long-running series like World of Warcraft, Diablo IV, Marvel Rivas, and Batman were present as well, but so were some newcomers that quickly managed to get a lot of attention. These include the warped FPS shooter set in the early 1930s rubber hose animation, Mouse: P.I. For Hire.

Gamescom 2024

It was incredible to see this seamless mixture of huge IPs, smaller development projects, and even art-house games, all in one place! Even though the game development industry has been in a tough spot for the last 12 months or more, there are now many glimmers of a change in fortune. For LootLabs, like so many content creators we collaborate with, this is excellent news.

Devcom Meetings and Contacts

Besides enjoying the best of global gaming on offer, we were fortunate enough to be at Devcom as well. First of all, we at LootLabs want to thank our partners and other business contacts for their insightful and inspiring conversations. Our main goal of participating in Gamescom and Devcom was to find partnerships that would help our content creators and members grow their businesses and creative ventures.

Devcom 2024

After conducting numerous conversations, including industry heavyweights like PlaySide Publishing, NetEase Games, Focus Entertainment, and Asus (including the excellent Asus ROG event), we have a much clearer picture of the wants and needs of the global audience. At the same time, we got introduced to some incredible game development projects like Island of Winds and Mecha BREAK, all of which were amazing. After all of the days in Cologne, we are beyond thrilled to see so many talented, experienced, and driven people work in the same field of entertainment and creativity that we occupy as well.

The Future of Gaming Influencer and UGC Projects

When we try to fuse all the information and experiences we gathered at Devcom and Gamescom 2024, we get a strong sense that the world of gaming is heading toward new and exciting destinations.

LootLabs wants to bridge the gap between companies creating content and gaming influencers that have enormous audiences around them. We believe we will be able to provide solutions to connect those players in the global gaming arena and achieve a chance for success for all involved. We are focused on providing solutions that will help gaming creators grow and find new collaborations, while companies and other businesses will be able to reach new and bigger audiences.

Today, we are certain that 2025 will usher in opportunities like never before for UGC and gaming influencers. LootLabs will be here to make sure that these opportunities turn into incredible working partnerships and collaborations with a global reach!

See you on Devcom and Gamescom 2025!
